Padborg, Denmark – 09 June 2026 – Milence, the joint venture between Daimler Truck, the TRATON GROUP and the Volvo Group, opened its first public charging hub in Denmark, near Padborg. Strategically located at the Denmark–Germany border in one of Northern Europe’s most important logistics gateways, the hub strengthens electric freight connectivity along the Scandinavian–Mediterranean TEN-T corridor. It provides a key charging stop for long-haul e-trucks travelling between the Nordics and Central Europe.Â
A strategic milestone in Milence’s Nordic expansion
The Padborg site represents Milence’s first charging hub in Denmark and marks another milestone in the company’s expansion of its European charging infrastructure network.Â
In its initial phase, the hub offers four CCS chargers powering four charging bays with up to 400 kW of energy along with essential driver facilities. Additional amenities are planned in future phases to further improve driver comfort and service offering. With its direct access to the motorway, the hub plays a strategic role in enabling reliable, high-performance for charging electric road transport across Europe.

Accelerating the deployment of high-power charging infrastructure across Europe
Milence is building Europe’s largest public charging network dedicated to heavy-duty transport, enabling the development of clean transport corridors across the continent. Padborg is Milence’s 37th operational charging hub across nine countries, reinforcing the scaling of sustainable long-distance road transport. Offering the fastest charging technology, including the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), is a top priority for the company. This technology is already available at hubs located in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges (Belgium), Zwolle (the Netherlands), and Landvetter (Sweden), and will be further rolled out across the network, including in Denmark.
Competitive tariffs and green energy for sustainable operations
Flexible payment options are available, including direct contactless payments, e-Mobility Service Provider (eMSP) cards, and the Milence Charge Card. In Denmark, charging tariffs start at DKK 2.799 / kWh (excluding VAT) for ad hoc charging. Customers can also benefit from tailored volume-based agreements which can further support their business case as they scale their zero-emission operations.
